K is for Kissing

Today is all about Kissing.

In my previous post on consciousness, I mentioned that I thought that animals had emotional abilities. This week, I found this post which gave a scientific slant to that discussion… (3:23)

But do animals really kiss? To address this question, I found you two more videos… one for the cat lovers out there (6:08)

and one for the dog lovers… (3:54)

Do you think animals understand kissing? Let us know what you think in the comments!

  1. Fun topic Amy. And delightful videos. While I’m not sure animals would define kissing in a way we do, I certainly believe they know how to give and receive love in spades. And I like to do my part to return the favor. 🙂

BTW, great top photo. And bonus points for those fabulous glasses!

  2. I think the animal world is so much more cool with love having a kind of territorial feel to it. For protection purposes, but also as a normal way of loving. Where humans tend to get into some trouble around topics of jealousy and ‘he/she is mine’ dogs feel that attachment as something more vital and necessary for survival. It’s belonging. Which is the ultimate comfortable state of relaxation… And I’m sure they have very similar feelings.
