Oh, I just love fonts! I actually had a bit of a tough time with this one but most of it is just the “learning curve” – oh, that darn learning curve!
I drew some scribbly fun colorful blobs with my square pastels (not oil pastels, the other kind…) then blended them together with my fingers (messy!) and then tried to take a photo of it with my smartphone. Bad. Tried to take a photo of it with my good digital camera. Worse. Poor lighting – oh, darn winter! So I braved the cold – yes people – 20 degrees is warm in MN this time of year! – and went outside on the deck with my digital camera to photograph my artwork, which is the background here.
The quote is from the Tao Te Ching, Chapter 4, which I wrote about earlier in the year. The chapters that you read of the Tao Te Ching here on my blog are my own version but we really have to credit Lao Tzu for writing this stuff because he is the master behind the painting of Tao.
Enjoy.
P.S. Please feel free to share or PIN any of my quote pieces. The photos on my blog are probably OK to share on Pinterest, but not to use for your own stuff. I bought them on iStockPhoto.com. I don’t use Flickr anymore – just too risky and I don’t want anyone coming back and saying that I stole their work. I know how tough it is for artists out there sometimes.

You did a great job with this quote also Amy. Thank you for sharing how you got to photograph it. We are expecting well into the -30o celcius temperatures here this week in Ontario (Canada). I’m just grateful I don’t have to photography anything outdoors.

lol… Well, 20 degrees is a heck of a lot better than -8 degrees F which is what it is today! I am not very good at celcius, but I can imagine that -30 is pretty dang cold! Stay warm!
Beautiful image! Perfect description of how our souls and bodies interconnect! I love it.
Thanks you, and a big hug,
Carole

This is beautiful. And your story of how you created the background…is this the one that ended up all over your jacket? LOL

Great post Amy, haow dedicated you are to go out in the cold and do this. I love reading your posts they brighten my day.
Thanks, Athena. Compared to the -9 degrees we had yesterday, that was summer!
