Tao Tuesdays: Chapter 37

Who needs Taco Tuesdays when you can have Tao Tuesdays? I am sure that Einstein would have really loved this…

Here is How it Works

I will post a chapter of the Tao Te Ching each Tuesday.  (My version – you can see all of the chapters on my List of Chapters page if you want to work ahead!) I will put a Mr. Linky entry form with it so that you can write your OWN commentary to the chapter on your own blog and then come back here after you post and add your link! Simple! (Please add the DIRECT link to your post about that particular chapter to make it easy for our readers!) I am so excited to read what you wrote! It has been so fun for me to work with this material and I really got the depth when I started writing about it. It is my wish that you will find the same! (Plus some extra traffic to your blog!) Don’t worry if you miss a week. Don’t worry if you just join us now and again. It is totally open. You can even go back to a previous chapter and post there. I will add each Tao Tuesday entry post to the List of Chapters page so you can read the other entries as you are reviewing all of the chapters.

We are all sages.

Chapter 37

Tao is non-action,
yet nothing remains undone.

When leaders follow the Tao,
the Ten Thousand Things are transformed.

When old habits arise,
I will press them into silence with the uncarved block
called Tao.

The simplicity of the uncarved block
will free old habits.

Without old habits,
everything under Heaven will be settled.

If you haven’t participated yet, why not join us next week? We will be looking at Chapter 38 next week. Or, you can always start at the beginning and do the earlier ones. They are all linked up on the List of All Chapters page so they do get looked at later on by people stopping by.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

  1. Amy, your post on the introductions to various versions of the I Ching was quite interesting.

I have added a link for my “Tao Tuesday” take on this chapter of the Tao Te Ching.

Amy, I needed this wisdom – your essay – so much today. I’m so happy I stopped by. I am in new revelations mode, and of course, that always brings me scurrying back over here to see what you are learning. Somehow, we intertwine a little.

My most recent essay was on wanting to learn to BE more instead of always DOING more. I’m letting go of habits, and trying to learn to be lighter and less stressed, because my children pick up my stress, but don’t know the meaning of stress, and don’t know my stress factors, they just end up acting out in bursts of anger. As much as I don’t want that to be my doing, I know they are learning all their ways from me at this point. I want to learn calmness. I’m just so intense about it. Ha, and not so funny, all at the same time.

I think I need the intensive course. I’m going to go back through the chapters starting with One.

Thank you, thank you – Always – for speaking your heart and your own lessons along the way.
