I am so excited for today’s post. Yesterday, I did an audio interview with a woman named Laura Ross-Perry. This is the first interview in a series that I am putting together on this blog to highlight women in leadership. Leadership is one of the principles of Taoism that I think is incredibly important. Leadership challenges us to live beyond our individual lives and to look more deeply at some ways that we can perhaps leave a legacy of our existence for others to follow.
I am so pleased to announce Laura as my first guest on this topic because she is definitely living beyond her own life with the work that she is doing. Laura is the volunteer coordinator for a website called Wiser.org. Wiser.org is a social media site for people to connect with one another, much like Facebook. But, unlike Facebook, Wiser.org specializes in connecting non-profit organizations with volunteers and connecting volunteers working on similar issues across the globe.
I hope that you will take a 30 minute break today to listen in with Laura and me as we discuss social change and the role of women in leadership. If you want to save this file to your computer to listen to it later, simply right click on the link below and save it to your computer.

If you enjoyed this interview and this blog, please sign up for our new mailing list!
This is different from the email subscription where we email you our blog posts (see upper right corner). This is new. We are working on some programs that you might find interesting and if you are on our list, I will be sure and keep you abreast of any future interviews and announcements of upcoming projects that might interest you. I won’t sell your names and I won’t spam you with a ton of emails each month. I promise. Just the good stuff!

Fun to see the audio add-in. How did you add it? Through a plugin?
Yes. It is called Powerpress and it was actually pretty easy to use. I uploaded the audio file itself to my Amazon s3 account and then just pointed back to it with PowerPress.

Great interview Amy. I love the idea of organizations like Wizer.org that enable others to be successful. It’s reminiscent of Heifer Project or Habitat for Humanity, groups that are catalyst for change. You did a fantastic job interviewing Laura Ross-Perry. You could be on radio!
Thanks, Pat. I think Laura deserves most of the kudos. She was remarkable. Thanks for listening!
That was a great interview. I guess the sparked website serves many purposes

Ha! Yes, we haven’t discussed this much together. Yes, it most certainly did! lol… We have a LOT to talk about! Perhaps a tech play date is in order!
Good interview. I’m looking forward to learning more from you on what you’re doing with this series and how you’ve integrated audio into your offerings. Thanks for sharing, Amy.

Oh. So sad… I wrote you a bunch of stuff here and my computer just sort of freaked out and erased it all! Yikes. Oh well… what I was saying is that YES, I am super psyched about including interviews. I so love doing them and it is always such an honor to share the fabulous people who fill my life. I did an interview last week with a very dear friend of mine and I think that we were both blown away by her words. I can’t publish that one yet as we are hoping to get it published in a print publication, so I have to sit on it for a while. There is something fabulous that comes out of it. I have some other secret projects in the works as well to share, but those are secret!
As for integrating the audios, it was actually pretty easy. I use PowerPress. If you have the audios uploaded somewhere, you can just put a link in your blog for PowerPress and it creates that handy little player. I always like to include a direct link as well, so people can download the MP3 directly to their computers so they can play them on their iPods or whatever. I have a car stereo that lets me plug in my iPhone so I just save things in iTunes and then play them when I am driving. It makes driving way more fun!
Amy, thank you for the audio post! Not only did I find the interview interesting, I love exploring the possibility of using audios!! I’ll be checking into it!
